During Conspire class last Sunday we used worksheets I developed from Sister Lois’s work on the Enneagram and the vices and virtues. My intention was to make the work and practices available and helpful regardless of knowledge of types and sub-types, and all of the intricacies.
The older I get, the more simple I want things to be. I get bogged down in analyzing and typing, reading, studying, workshopping, and complaining, these are all forms of bypass for me, meaning, I get all wrapped up in them and the endless pursuit distracts me from moving into more loving kindness and compassion for myself and others. This may or may not be true for others. I have begun to see this pattern in myself so I resist the urge to be an expert intellectually because that is what keeps me from trusting my inner guide. An endless pursuit of knowledge about spirituality and religion keep me from participating in it. Being informed and aware is a very delicate balance for me.
I made these worksheets to help me more quickly connect with how I am stuck and what can free me. I used them as practice modules for a discernment retreat last spring. The questions seemed to help a variety of personality types and patterns. I hope you will try them and see if you are able to get clarity about how you may be stuck and what might release you from that place.
Here is a reflection on how I personally interacted with these in practice with a few others in our Conspire Healing Circle on Sunday:
I lose myself in saving others to avoid losing myself.
I find myself when I trust others have everything they need inside themselves and so do I.
I do not want to lead. I want to let go. I want to just be.
I trust you will seek and find all the tools and resources you need to find your hidden wholeness. I hope I am on the path and doing the same.
Grace in, peace out,
Brooke
